The School Day

The start of each day gives young people the opportunity to share breakfast with their class and to prepare for their day of learning.

Our Monday morning assemblies are an opportunity for our young people to engage in activities linked to local and national events and areas of need, this includes assemblies linked to the time of year, British values and personal development. After a successful day of learning, the end of each day provides an opportunity to reflect and celebrate the days achievements, as well as valuable and enjoyable enrichment activities for the children to engage in.

The education team at Ormston School are fully prepared to act on individual advice received from external therapy services. Space away from the classroom is available each day for young people to work directly with external therapy services if commissioned by the Local Authority.

Our family style lunches run from 12:30 – 1:15pm every day and provide the opportunity for our young people to enjoy a healthy meal as well as time to participate in a range of structured play activities, this has the added benefit of giving young people the time to develop their social and communication skills. All young people at Ormston School are offered a cooked meal each day chosen from a rolling menu, those who wish to bring a packed lunch may do so.
